13-Year-Old Bobby Hardin Wraps Up a 50-Performance Run of Seussical the Musical at Playhouse on the Square

Memphis, TN, January 03, 2008 --(PR.com)-- January 10, 2008 marks the 50th and final performance for Bobby Hardin as “JoJo” in Playhouse on the Square’s production of Seussical the Musical. Playhouse on the Square is Memphis' only professional live theater, offering the best of Broadway and off-Broadway, located at 51 South Cooper, Memphis, TN 38104. Bobby has been performing in Seussical at Playhouse since November 6, 2007.

No stranger to the stage, Bobby has appeared locally as Young Erik in Yeston & Kopit's Phantom, as Charlie Bates in Oliver!, as Jem Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird, and as Zeke Baylor in DeSoto Family Theatre's High School Musical. “It’s been awesome!” says Bobby, when asked about his experience in Seussical the Musical.

In Seussical, Bobby performs shows six days a week. The G-rated, 80-minute show is geared towards elementary school children, and it is performed at 10am during the week and at 2pm on the weekends. Initially, Bobby was not prepared for such a rigorous schedule. After a week or two, the family figured out a routine that worked for everyone. In the afternoons, Bobby home schools with his mom and sister, Kelly, to keep up with his studies.

You can see Seussical this weekend at 2pm on Saturday, January 5th, or at 7pm on Sunday, January 6th. There are also 3 more matinees on Tuesday, January 8th, through Thursday, January 10th, at 10am. Please call the Playhouse Box Office at (901) 726-4656 for ticket information. Please visit www.playhouseonthesquare.org and www.dftonline.org.
