NSC Holds Annual Fashion Show

Oswestry, United Kingdom, March 19, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Hair and Beauty students at North Shropshire College (NSC) have held their annual fashion show, the show was attended by members of the public and funds were raised for Macmillan Cancer Care. The themes for this years’ show was Truly British, the British Ironworks provided many sculptures and an archway to go over the catwalk. The show allowed Hair and Beauty and Hospitality and Catering students to show off their skills, staff and students from various departments acted as models for the students.

Beauty lecturer, Sam Humphreys, commented, "It was yet another success, the effort from the students added to the fantastic outcome. We are grateful to companies in Oswestry for providing prizes for the raffle; which raised over £200 alone. Also, to Dorothy Perkins a huge thank you for allowing us to showcase the fashion they have in the Oswestry store, they are always hugely supportive. The fashion show benefits the students, helping them complete their qualifications and demonstrate working effectively as a team."

The food was provided by the Level 3 Hospitality and Catering students, Dan Tompson, Hospitality and Catering Lecturer, commented, "The Level 3 Hospitality and Catering students developed the menu for the evening over a number of weeks, all of the dishes were ‘deconstructed’ meals whereby the components of the dish were presented separately on the plate. The dishes were chosen by the students, who had to take into consideration that they were cooking for 80 people."
