British Art Pottery Antique & Gift Expo in West Palm Beach, FL

Royal Doulton & Moorcroft Expo draws International crowd to West Palm Beach. Free show of ceramic art, antiques & gifts, Feb 8-10, brings together collectors, artists and dealers from all over the USA and the UK.

Miami, FL, January 05, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Lovers of Royal Doulton and Moorcroft art pottery will be heading to West Palm Beach from February 8-10 for the 22nd Annual Florida Antiques & Gifts Expo. The 2008 show is being held at the Airport Hilton on Australian Avenue and admission is free on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th February.

Show visitors will have the opportunity to buy from a treasure trove of Royal Doulton antiques and collectibles displayed by specialist dealers from around the world. Beautiful figurines from the 1920s to the present day; rare examples of Victorian art pottery; and the popular Disney and Beatrix Potter collections are just some of the desirable pieces offered for sale at this prestigious British art pottery event.

One of Royal Doulton’s latest figurines portraying Princess Diana will star at this event and it is anticipated that the ‘Queen of People’s Hearts’ will be a popular Valentine’s gift this year.

A special feature of the weekend will be the show of Moorcroft art pottery and the demonstrations by their leading prestige painter, Amanda Baker. Since 1897, Moorcroft artists have used traditional decorating techniques to create stunning pieces of ceramic art in Stoke-on-Trent, England, the heart of the British Potteries district. For this weekend only, visitors will have the opportunity to try tube-lining and hand-painting pottery at the Moorcroft Master-Classes.

Master modeler, Robert Tabbenor, will also be traveling from Stoke-on-Trent to demonstrate the art of ceramic modeling and he will be meeting many of his fans from around the USA, who have enjoyed collecting his Royal Doulton figures and character jugs during the last 25 years.

British antiques expert, Louise Irvine, will be flying over from London to give advice on collecting art pottery and selecting the best designs to suit individual tastes and décor.

With all these special UK guests, interactive workshops, informative discussions and thousands of wonderful Royal Doulton and Moorcroft pieces to choose from, the 22nd Florida show promises to be the best ever.

‘West Palm Beach has proved to be the perfect location for this event’, says Ed Pascoe, the promoter of this show for the last 21 years. ‘It is a luxurious destination with winter sunshine, which appeals to our clients from the north and overseas. Plus we have found that Royal Doulton figurines and Moorcroft art pottery appeal particularly to the local Palm Beach residents, who have discerning tastes in British antiques and ceramic art.’

Everyone is welcome for free admission to the Florida Antiques & Gift Expo at the West Palm Beach Hilton from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday 9th February, and 10:00am to 4:00pm on Sunday 10th February. The only costs associated with the weekend are for the RSVP Evening Events – a Wine and Cheese Preview Party on Friday 8th February and a Valentine’s Celebration dinner on Saturday 9th February.
