America’s Registry of Outstanding Professionals Recognizes Deirdre Harris as a Lifetime Member

Deirdre Harris of Kissimmee, Florida, has been recognized as a Lifetime Member by America’s Registry of Outstanding Professionals for her outstanding contributions and achievements in the airline industry.

Farmingdale, NY, May 21, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Deirdre Harris was born in New York City. She grew up on the streets of East Harlem in Manhattan and attended the City University of New York with a major in English. She is currently the In-flight Administrative Assistant with JetBlue Airways. Her early career began with the New York City Transit Police Department as Chief Clerk/Administrative Manager administering all HR functions for the department. Ms. Harris established the department’s first Psychological Testing Unit for Police Officer candidates. She was a member of the Commendation Review Committee and Coordinator for Police Officer and Civilian Award ceremonies. After that, Ms Harris became the Station Trainer/Auditor/Recruiter for America West Airlines were she was proficient in all areas of airline procedures including ticketing and gate procedures; aircraft weight and balance; ramp qualified and baggage service. She was also responsible for reconciliation of daily ticket sales, interviewing and administering aptitude exams for prospective hires and training customer service agents in new procedures and initiatives. Her next career move was as an Administrative Assistant for the Little Flower Preparatory School where she provided support to the Director/Owner for all functions relating to compliance with the laws of the State of New York. Ms. Harris’ career with JetBlue Airlines began as a Recruiter at JFK Airport Operations where she prescreened candidates and conducted interviews for potential staffing needs. This was followed by becoming Manager, People Department where she supported JFK Airport in matters concerning employee relations. Later she became Manager, People Resources where she was a facilitator for “Principals of Leadership” series and respectful workplace training. Her career with JetBlue flourished when she became Manager Recruitment and then Vice President of the JetBlue Crewmember Crisis Fund and currently, the In-flight Administrative Assistant. She provides administrative support for the General Manager, Orlando In-flight Crew Manager and Orlando based in-flight crewmembers. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management. Ms. Harris’ leisure time is spent reading, bowling, roller skating and dancing.
