NSC Hosts Finnish Guests

Oswestry, United Kingdom, April 06, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The Enterprise and Development Department of North Shropshire College (NSC) recently hosted a group of visitors from Finland. The visitors were four staff members from Seinajoen Koulutuskuntayhtyma, a vocational centre in Seinajoki. The teachers are a partner in the Departments’ KA1 Erasmus+ Continental Vocational Education and Training Project. During the visit their Finnish guests visited NSC’s Walford and Oswestry Campuses, as well as local farms showcasing beef and sheep farming in the area and one visit to a farm using a digester to produce Biogas.

NSC will be hosting three agricultural students from Finland in April/May, where they will spend four weeks working and living on local farms. A group of NSC Agricultural Students and Apprentices will be visiting Finland later this year to undertake two week work placements. Enterprise and Development Department Assistant manager, Liz Wilcox, commented, "The training and learning undertaken in Finland will be mapped across to their UK College qualification, our Finnish guests delivered a Finnish lesson to those students who will be travelling to Finland during their visit to NSC."
