April 2016: Local Personal Development Center is Menlo Park Focusing on Manners

Manners are not simply words and gestures; they are subtle messages that, you matter.

Menlo Park, CA, April 08, 2016 --(PR.com)-- “Manners are not simply words and gestures; they are subtle messages that, ‘you matter.’”-- Dr. Robyn Silverman – Kuk Sool Won™ of Menlo Park’s Child Development Expert

April 2016 is Manners Month as part of Kuk Sool Won™ of Menlo Park’s Powerful Words Character Development program. All students will be studying, developing and experiencing powerful life lessons focusing on understanding the importance of using polite words and respectful actions that show other people that they matter. In addition to all of the physical skills that they'll be working on this month, students will be discussing and practicing the following concepts both in and out of class:

· Manners defined: Please, thank you, you’re welcome & table manners
· Excuse me & I’m sorry! Polite interruptions, apologies, speaking up politely
· Introductions & inclusion: Powerful greeting, welcoming friends, opinions
· Kind gestures: Showing manners through actions & showing gratitude

“From please and thank you to opening doors and staying quiet in the library, manners refer to social graces we use to show others that their feelings matter. When we use kind words and actions, we help others feel comfortable,” says Dr. Robyn Silverman, Kuk Sool Won™ of Menlo Park’s child & adolescent expert, and creator of the Powerful Words Character Development system used at the facility.

Kristin Quintana, Chief Instructor of Kuk Sool Won™ of Menlo Park says, "I’m thrilled to be focusing on helping our members (and our community) truly develop good manners this month. It’s no secret that our facility is one of the most respectful places around, so we’re eager to help even more people see the value and benefit of treating others with great manners this month. The ability to build friendships and relationships will help our members to lead a more fulfilled life outside of our facility and truly help them become winners at the game of life. We’re all excited to see the positive impact that this month’s Powerful Words Curriculum has on our students as well as on our entire community. That’s what it’s all about for us and we take this very seriously.

"It’s a pleasure seeing our community recognized as a place with Powerful Character, and seeing our students lead the way! As this community’s premier Powerful Personal Development Center, we take this responsibility very seriously. We’re thrilled to help our students and our community to thrive and succeed, and Manners month is going to help us to do just that."

Kuk Sool Won™ of Menlo Park’s strong curriculum and the Powerful Words Character Development system provide our students with the opportunities to become UNSTOPPABLE in life. These lessons will remain with our students for life and we're honored to help them achieve the success that they deserve” says Quintana.
