Teacher Training at NSC

Oswestry, United Kingdom, April 10, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The Oswestry Campus of North Shropshire College (NSC) hosts many teacher training courses; the courses are open to everyone who wants to go into teaching and instructing as a career. NSC runs the BTEC Level 3 Award in Education and Training, which is designed for people aspiring to teach in the lifelong learning sector or who already teaches in a limited capacity and the University Certificate in Education and Training, which is a post-graduate qualification for people who want to teach professionally. The latter course is delivered in partnership with Staffordshire University. The courses at NSC are run on a part-time basis, allowing flexibility with work and family commitments.

One of the participants on the BTEC Level 3 Award in Education and Training, Harriet Bailey, commented, "The course has given me a better understanding of what is required in the teaching and educational sector." One of the other students on the course, Rebeckah Harriman, commented "The course has been an inspirational and motivational experience for me." The Award in Education and Training is taught by NSC lecturer Rachel Young, who worked professionally as a Hairdresser before going into teaching.

One of the students on the Certificate in Education and Training, Amy Harris, commented "I have learnt a lot since starting the course; I have learnt a lot of different teaching methods and techniques to motivate and engage my learners." Donna Lester, who is also completing the Certificate in Education and Training commented, "I have learnt that there is a lot more to teaching than standing at the front of a class room and ‘talking at’ students, it is about nurturing and mentoring as well as teaching."
