Fire Apes Set to Perform at POPAsheville Music Festival

The Fire Apes, an award winning Indie Rock/Powerpop band from Charleston, SC, will be performing as part of the POPAsheville Festival on January 20th, at 9:00 pm at Stella Blue in Asheville, North Carolina.

Charleston, SC, January 09, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Fire Apes were one of 34 bands from around the Southeast US chosen to perform at this emerging 2-day festival that takes place January 19-20th at several venues in Asheville, NC. It is the first venue-based music festival ever held in Asheville. This is The Fire Apes' first POPAsheville appearance.

POPAsheville supports a thriving scene for modern touring bands and recognizes the importance of community and information sharing within this scene. In the midst of a highly transitional music industry, the festival seeks to bolster partnerships between touring bands and to amplify Asheville's presence on the national music map.

Festivalgoers can purchase an all-access wristband online in advance at the festival website, or at select festival locations (The Grey Eagle, Orbit DVD, Harvest Records, Stella Blue, Static Age Records, and Honeypot). Cost of the all-access wristband is $15. Tickets for individual shows may be purchased the night of show, based on availability, for $10.

The festival also includes a Music Biz Discussion Panel at The Rocket Club, Sunday, Jan. 20 from 1-3:30pm. The Panel is an informative session regarding news and issues important to Indie musicians. Led by a panel of experienced industry pros, the discussion will cover topics such as recent changes in the music industry, strategies for making a go of it as an Indie, and resources for the Indie musician.

The Fire Apes, consisting of John Seymour on lead guitar and vocals, Julian Volpe on bass and vocals, Hugh Knight on keyboards, and Aron Robinson on drums, are currently touring the Southeast US in support of their latest single "Hey Kate!"
