Denver, CO, April 20, 2016 --(PR.com
)-- Denver A-List calculated over 75,000 votes in search of the top local businesses in numerous categories. With just under 9200 competing organizations, two Denver dining staples received highest honors in the 2016 poll of the city’s best.
Nestled in Denver’s popular Capitol Hill neighborhood, Lala’s Wine Bar + Pizzeria and Govnr’s Park Tavern are number one in best wine bar and best neighborhood bar and were finalists in several other categories. Govnr’s Park Tavern, established long before Capitol Hill was hip, celebrates their 40th anniversary this year and has been a local favorite for watching your favorite game, enjoying lunch or dinner on a sunny patio, or having after work or late night drinks. They have been in the top five of categories Best Neighborhood Bar and Best Sports Bar for the last 7 years of voting. Lala’s Wine Bar + Pizzeria entered the neighborhood eight years ago, creating a very loyal following with their artistic thin crust pizzas, house made mozzarella and burrata, and extensive and eclectic wine list with over 60 wines available by the glass.
Mike Plancarte and John Ott, proprietors of both Govnr’s Park Tavern and Lala’s, operate two additional long-time Denver favorites, Marlowe’s and Paramount Café. Both 16th Street Mall restaurants also received top nods in several categories. Mike and John take great pride in creating memorable experiences for their guests, supporting and emphasizing locally sourced products, and giving back to their community. Mike Plancarte states, "We are excited and take a lot of pride in winning Denver's A-List for Best Neighborhood Bar and Best Wine Bar. It feels good when your patrons voluntarily recognize you for what you do. As we approach our 40th year in the Capital Hill area we see as many new faces as we do regulars. That's what makes being here every day so enjoyable."
