Dacon Completes a Major Pipeline Inspection Project in Japan
Dacon Inspection Services has successfully completed the Ultrasonic Intelligent Pigging inspection at a major strategic storage hub in Japan.
Rayong, Thailand, April 24, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Dacon Inspection Services has successfully completed the Ultrasonic Intelligent Pigging inspection of 4 x 8” x 800M pipelines at a major strategic storage hub in Japan.
Dacon has some of the world’s lightest Ultrasonic Intelligent Inspection tools in the industry, the 8” UT Intelligent pigging tool weighs in at only approximately 12 Kg’s and with an overall length of 683 mm, the tool was successfully launched and retrieved with ease without the use of any additional lifting equipment.
The Ultrasonic intelligent pig was calibrated and propelled with Jet aircraft fuel, which was also the couplant for the ultrasonic inspection tool during this multi-line inspection campaign.
Working on a tight schedule, in a harsh sub-zero temperature location that demanded precision logistics and seamless execution, Dacon were able to overcome several unforeseen challenges to deliver the project and final reporting to the exact client requirements. Dacon has proven its customer centric approach by repeatedly delivering over and above the scope of work required in order to ensure our clients achieve the timely results they need.
Upon successful retrieval of the UT intelligent Pig a number of critical pipe wall loss and features were identified and immediate remedial actions advised to the client. Due to large volumes of data needing to be analysed and reported Dacon utilized every resource available and worked overtime shifts to deliver the reports in within 7 days of job completion as per the client request.
