New Plymouth, New Zealand, January 11, 2008 --(PR.com
)-- Author, Snowboarder, Surfer, and founder of asnowboardinglife.com,
C. S. Williamson began writing his novel 'A Snowboarding Life' back in 1998 while living an enviable lifestyle high up in the French Alps, snowboarding every day.
With no paper at hand, and in the spur of the moment, he scrawled his first draft in marker pen on the inside walls and ceiling of his camper van while he waited out the storms that lashed the Basque coastline of Europe when he was surfing during the summer and autumn that followed. He then completed a second draft, transferring what he had written onto paper this time, about a year later following another winter spent snowboarding in the Italian Dolomites.
"The story is actually based on what I experienced while living in the
mountains. Vivid memories of events that happened, emotions I felt,
things that scared me, and days that literally blew me away. The life I lived completely revolved around snowboarding and living in the moment, forever chasing powder and escaping the crowds. At the beginning it was back in New Zealand, then during the winter I spent in the United States and later while traveling and living in Europe. It's a fun story, a roller-coaster ride of sorts, and an insight into 'A Snowboarding Life' that all of us dream of and work towards".
He picked up the draft of his novel again in '07, after having put it away for eight years, and he liked what he saw, so he knuckled down and re-drafted it several times, before having it professionally edited and then published.
