)-- The event will start at St Paul Exempts, 690 Thomas Ave, Rochester, NY 14617 with a motorcycle/vehicle ride to sites in Greece, NY and Brockport, NY where dedication memorials will be placed honoring our heroes NYS Trooper Andrew J Sperr and Staff Sgt Nicholas J Reid. Both men were killed in the line of service to our community and country. NYS Trooper Andrew J Sperr was killed March 1, 2006, after he came upon two subjects later determined to be involved in a bank robbery in the town of Big Flats in Chemung County. Staff Sgt Reid died on December 13, 2012 from wounds suffered in Sperwan Village, Afghanistan, when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. The theme for the day’s event is to bring recognition and memoriam for the sacrifices these brave men made by dedicating memorials in Greece and Brockport. The ride then returns to the event site for a short ceremony with special guest speaker Medal of Honor recipient Gary Beikirch. Our Emcee for the event is Cristina Domingues, Anchor and reporter on TWC news.
