Exciting Haitian American Singer/Songwriter Natalie Jean Announces Release of New Single “Looking Back” to Quick Acclaim
For some people music truly flows through their blood. This is certainly the case for Natalie Jean, the daughter of famous Haitian artist Guy R. Jean, and a wildly talented singer/songwriter herself. The award winning star recently announced the release of her new single “Looking Back” following up on 2015's all-French language Grammy nominated pop album “Lecons D'Amour.”
“Music has always been my passion and seeing it comes to life in such an exciting way is a dream come true,” commented the young artist about her exciting work. “My father, of course, was one of my first inspirations, but being able to explore different styles of music and find a voice that connects with my fans myself has been an amazing journey. 'Looking Back' is my latest and it's a song that means so much to me. I really hope listeners love the song as much as I do.”
“Looking Back” is Natalie Jean at her best and most compelling, according to insiders, expertly crafted pop music, with hypnotic vocals and her subtle energy being felt throughout. The song tells an all too familiar story of a woman being lied to by a man, realizing it, but still having to hear what his explanation is no matter how painful it may be to find some kind of closure to the hard experience. Surely a tale many listeners themselves have experienced first hand and can relate to her thoughts and feelings on such an emotional subject.
The new song follows up her recent all-Frenchdance/pop album “Lecon D'Amour”, which reviewers and fans absolutely adored. High praise even pointed to the album as a compelling return to the dance until you drop days of Studio 54 – so powerful and exciting it could even recreate the feeling of one of the greatest eras in music history.
The awards Jean has received are near impossible to list completely. Highlights include: In 2014, she was nominated in the Best Dance Category in the 2014 Artist in Music Awards, as well as having five diferent nominations in The 2014 Indie Music Music Channel Awards for Best Blues Song, Best Blues Artist, Best Jazz Song, Best Best Rap Song, and Best R&B Artist. She was also nominated in the LA Music Awards in the Pop category, made the top 30 in the international Category in the Australian Songwriting Contest, and was also nominated in the Hollywood Music in Media Awards for Best Blues Song and Best Female vocalist. As testament to her diverse ability and experience Jean also received five nominations in the International Music and Entertainment Association in the categories of Spiritual, Jazz, Pop, Hip Hop, and Christian artist; as well as having several wins in the Akademia Music Awards for best Jazz (twice), Best Blues, Best Heavy metal song, Best Adult Contemporary, Dance, and Best Rap song.
