Columbia, MD, May 05, 2016 --(PR.com)-- On Wednesday, May 11, 2016, the Maryland Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) will host their inaugural Bold Leaders in Design Summit and Expo at Gramophone, 8880 McGaw Road, Columbia, Maryland, from 8:00am-5:00pm. Bold Leaders in Design, inspired by ASID’s Annual Impact Summit, is a collective program built to be a platform where leading experts across masteries can share knowledge and help bridge a gap often found among various sectors in the design industry. All those interested in attending, are strongly encouraged to do so, regardless of professional level or affiliation. This all-inclusive program will be equally relevant across residential, commercial, healthcare, hospitality and GSA sectors of the design world.

Explains Lauryn Murphy, President-elect of the Maryland Chapter of ASID, “When designing a space - food allergies, asthma, security - all represent relevant issues where knowledge of such can significantly influence a healthier, safer final outcome. We need not become experts across these fields, we simply need to identify the experts, connect with and call upon them, as needed.”

Intended to enlighten the design industry with innovative products and valuable resources, Murphy credits the intermingled concept behind the expo to Mr. Steve Vogel of Conestoga Tile, who “shared the idea for a small scale tabletop expo that encouraged participants to engage with one another.”

“The support and generosity of Cosentino (Title Sponsor), shared with that of Gramophone (Host Sponsor), have advanced this event to a place larger, and more meaningful, than ever imagined. Thank you to Cosentino, Gramophone, Conestoga Tile- as well as to the respected speakers and participants for so willingly sharing knowledge and energy- making this event possible”, declares Murphy.
