Richards, Founder & Head Designer of the new womenswear brand based in NYC, Niche-Elle NY debuted her first collection for Fall/Winter 2016 at the Alhambra Ballroom in Harlem, NYC. The collection displayed a clear message of her point of view - clothing for a sophisticated, classy and romantic woman. The collection featured a beautiful array of colors and fabrications including colorful and metallic brocades, red silks, embossed leathers and other natural fabrics, as well as her talent for constructing garments with a great deal of detail and great fit. The silhouettes reflected romance and tastefulness, and a bit of edginess without too much provocativeness using structured and tailored styles such as ruched ruffles, large pleating, and cut-out/inset details.

Richards' named her collection "Romance in Paris." When asked what inspired her to create this collection, she said, "I was inspired by the fabrics I chose. Unlike most designers, I work backwards - from fabrication to sketch. I get most inspired to make a garment when the fabric speaks to me. For this collection, the fabrics all came together and told a story - one of romance and class. I called the collection "Romance in Paris" because Paris is the city of romance."
