NSC Fencing Tasters

Oswestry, United Kingdom, May 12, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Students at North Shropshire College’s (NSC) Oswestry Campus have had the option of doing fencing classes on a Thursday. The sessions are planned by the College Sports Maker Benji Evans and involve students from across the College. Sessions have been held with Uniformed Public Services, Sport and Business students and have been taught by Fencing Teacher Bridie Lloyd. Bridie put the class through their paces with an insight into Fencing etiquette, technique and how to handle a sword. The students had some contests, testing their skills in a friendly competition.

Bridie Lloyd, Fencing Teacher from Phenzync, commented "It’s working really well, the students really enjoy the sessions, and it is really good to work with other groups in the College as well as Sport. I’m excited about delivering future sessions with business students." College Sports Maker, Benji Evans, commented "Students from all corners of the College asked for non-traditional sports activities and fencing was suggested. These sessions have widened access to students who do not normally participate in regular sport, so fencing has been a really effective way to engage with students."
