The New England Surge Professional Indoor Football Team Announce Open Auditions for Power Surge Dance Team

Worcester, MA, January 10, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The New England Surge of the Continental Indoor Football League, (CIFL), is ramping up for their second season of fast-paced, high-impact professional indoor football at the DCU Center. The first exciting event in getting ready for the season opener is the announcement of Open Auditions for the Power Surge Dance Team on Sunday, January 20, 2008.

The Power Surge was a big hit last year and this year they promise to be even better. Karen Chevalier took over as Director and has planned an extensive audition session for the dance team try outs. Karen Chevalier has a lot of experience with the New England Surge having served as the Dance Consultant for the Power Surge Cheerleaders in their inaugural year. Chevalier brings extensive professional training and dance experience to her new role as Director. She serves as a dance instructor at JoAnn Warren Studio in Worcester and was one of the original members of the 1994 Mass Marauder Magic dance team of the ArenaFootball League.

For the New England Surge’s second season the Power Surge Cheerleaders has changed to the Power Surge Dance Team. This is as a result of Chevalier’s many years of dance experience which will allow her to share her love of dance and watch the routines come to life in front of thousands of fans when the dance team performs. Chevalier states, “I am really looking forward to the audition process and getting the team excited about the season. I have a lot of great ideas and some very exciting routines planned in our repertoire for the Power Surge Dance Team. I can't wait to share them with the team and the fans.”

Young women who will be 18 years of age or older by the audition date, and have dance training can audition for a place in the 10-member Power Surge Dance Team. Auditions will be held on Sunday, January 20 at Believe in You Model & Talent, located at 381 Main Street in Worcester. Registration will begin at 8am and participants should plan on keeping the entire day open for auditions. The audition process will consist of 3 parts. First, each candidate will need to arrive with a prepared 30-second routine to be performed for the judges. Second, the candidates will learn a short Power Surge routine that they will then perform for the judges. The final portion will be an interview. Chevalier is confident that the final team selections will be completed by the end of the day. Chevalier relays, “Bring your talent, bring your winning personality, and get ready to have a ton of fun.”
