Decatur, GA, May 26, 2016 --(PR.com
)-- Started in 2013, Another Chance honors the life and vision of founder Dr. Mang Ndukwe. Along with his wife Ego, Mang acted on the idea of giving people in the disability community something rarely found by most, another chance at living life with dignity, a sense of achievement and independence. For clients of the company, this vision has given them a purpose that was hard to find in a world of self-sufficiency. The doctor also created a bridge between the gap of abled-bodied and disabled individuals which helped tear down the obstructing wall between the two relatable worlds.
Like years before, Founder’s Day is the “coming together” of people in the community who are directly and indirectly connected by various disabilities. Vendor fees and sponsorship of the event support an annual October educational trip which is to The Wilderness at the Smokies this year. The educational trip is funded by donations and fundraisers by individuals of Another Chance. On-going fundraisers such as car washes, yard sales and even a business expo are used to teach fundamentals of finance and productivity.
For two years, the celebration was hosted at Wade-Walker Park in Stone Mountain. Since 2015, the event is housed on the large property of the company. The 4th annual family-friendly environment provides a safe, fun and social atmosphere for our individuals to enjoy a wonderful celebration with the public. Founder’s Day is open to the public on their large property conveniently located at Interstate 20 and Panola Road between 10:30am-3pm. The event offers light complimentary food and water, DJ Tabone conducting the soundtrack, local vendors, free admission and parking, easy drop off/pickup by Marta mobility, large indoor restrooms, health-related information, free promotional items, performances by individuals and even more surprises! A few past involved brands have been the Atlanta Ice Cream Truck, Red Bull, King of Pops, New York Life, Aflac and more. Vendors are encouraged to showcase their products and services to the public, being that the event is free to attend. ID badging to handmade jewelry brands set up booths along with other companies that ship in materials and goodies for inclusion for the event’s gift bags.
Another Chance asks for assistance through supply and monetary donations. Locals are encouraged to donate items such as disposable plates, cups, ice, hand fans, visors, sun block, snacks, educational gifts and other usable goods. Deliveries are accepted Monday through Friday 8:30pm-4pm at the event location: 5301 Snapfinger Park Drive, Decatur, GA 30035 and monetary is accepted in person, mail or online.
