Florida Public Relations Association Southwest Florida Chapter Awards $1,500 Scholarship to FGCU Student

Fort Myers, FL, June 02, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The Florida Public Relations Association Southwest Florida Chapter (FPRA SWFL) has awarded Breanna Rigg the Bob Davis APR, CPRC Scholarship. A member of the FPRA SWFL student chapter at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), Rigg will be presented with the $1,500 award at the FPRA Annual Conference at Innisbrook Golf and Spa Resort in Palm Harbor on Monday, Aug. 8.

To be considered for the scholarship, students must be juniors currently enrolled full time in upper-division public relations, mass communication or a related track at an accredited college or university within the state of Florida. Candidates must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0. Winners of the scholarships are selected based on a recommendation from the Florida Public Relations Education Foundation Scholarship Committee.

Rigg is currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in communications with a concentration in public relations and minoring in advertising and psychology. She has been on the dean’s list for academic excellence every school semester since beginning at FGCU. Rigg is also employed at CONRIC PR & Marketing as a marketing assistant. She manages the administration of social media accounts and blogs, writes press releases and creates e-newsletters. She serves as President of the FPRA SWFL student chapter at FGCU, the director of communication and marketing for FGCU’s student government and is a member of Zeta Tau Alpha fraternity.

FPRA SWFL hosts highly educational monthly luncheon programs featuring speakers on a variety of topics relevant to public relations and related professions. Sponsorships for the monthly programs are available. Three levels of sponsorships are available, ranging from $100 to $500.
