5 Star OFS, LLC Announces Acquisition of Two SWD Facilities in the Eagle Ford Shale

Beaumont, TX, June 11, 2016 --(PR.com)-- 5 Star OFS, LLC (5 Star) announced today that on April 1, 2016, it acquired two salt water disposal facilities from Karis Resources. Both facilities are located in the Eagle Ford Shale and are fully operational. They are now being operated by 5 Star’s affiliate operating company, BD Operating, LLC, a licensed and bonded operator with the Texas Railroad Commission.

The first facility acquired, formerly referred to as the Karis Resources Grant/Garrett, is now called the 5 Star Kenedy SWD and is located in Kenedy, TX on County Road 178. This particular location has two operational injection wells with a total combined injection capacity of 35,000 BWPD. Prior to the acquisition of this facility, 5 Star put both the Grant and Garrett injection wells through a rigorous inspection process to determine their full compliance with 5 Star’s strict environmental and safety standards. 5 Star has already enhanced certain facility features and continues to monitor the daily operations of this facility through BD Operating, LLC.

The second facility acquired, formerly referred to as the Karis Resources Meghan J, is now called the 5 Star Yoakum SWD and is located in Yoakum, TX on State Hwy 95 North. This facility is permitted for a maximum injection volume of 20,000 BWPD. The 5 Star Yoakum SWD facility underwent the same rigorous inspection process as the 5 Star Kenedy SWD and remains under constant monitoring by 5 Star OFS and BD Operating, LLC.

Former members of the Karis Resources management team now serve as part of the 5 Star sales team and operations team. “We have a great respect for Karis Resources in what it accomplished with establishing these two facilities. Their management team boasts an extensive amount of experience in the salt water disposal arena and we felt it important to incorporate not only their knowledge of the industry, but also their long standing customer and vendor relationships into the future of 5 Star,” stated Don Shaver, Managing Member of 5 Star OFS, LLC.

5 Star recently named Jimmy Russell, former COO of Karis Resources, its Vice President of Operations. Mr. Russell is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of all SWD facilities owned by 5 Star. David Melton, former President of Karis Resources, was recently named VP of Business Development for 5 Star. Mr. Melton is responsible for overseeing the long term business growth model of 5 Star.

5 Star’s approach to the salt water disposal space has been carefully calculated based on area specific logistics, geology and engineering.
