Equinix to Provide Network Exchange Infrastructure for Pacific Teleports in Australia

Wholesale Voice and IP Solutions Provider to Use Equinix Hub to Service South Pacific Customers.

Sydney, Australia, February 14, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), the leading provider of network-neutral data centres and Internet exchange services, today announced that Pacific Teleports Pty Limited has selected Equinix to provide co-location and network exchange services from the Equinix Sydney Internet Business Exchange™ (IBX®) centre. As part of the agreement, Pacific Teleports will utilise Equinix’s Sydney hub as a network interconnection point for the delivery of their wholesale voice and broadband services to customers in the South Pacific region.

Pacific Teleports delivers high quality, fully customised telecommunications and teleport solutions to the Pacific region. The company focuses on custom solutions to match specific telecommunications requirements, from point to point links through to fully managed networks.

“Our focus is on satellite telecommunications and broadcast services specifically in the Asia Pacific region, and our new Point of Presence (POP) in Equinix’s Sydney centre will enable us to interconnect with an aggregation of our strategic partners,” said Andrew Taylor, Co-Founder and CEO, Pacific Teleports. ”This arrangement will give us greater resiliency in our network.”

The Equinix Sydney IBX center provides a unique environment for Pacific Teleports to streamline its network connectivity infrastructure by providing immediate and direct access to an aggregation of leading carriers, ISPs and network services within the same physical location. The wide diversity of domestic and international service providers operating within the centre will also allow Pacific Teleports to exchange VoIP traffic with carriers around the world.

“Equinix will enhance our ability to exchange voice traffic and peer with other service providers,” said Taylor. “This enables Pacific Teleports to enhance our service offerings to carriers who do not have a VoIP network, or require teleport facilities.”

“By operating at Equinix, Pacific Teleports will enjoy immediate proximity to partner networks in a carrier neutral and redundant environment thus boosting its IP and VoIP services,” said Doug Oates, Managing Director of Equinix Australia. “Pacific Teleports is an important voice and wholesale IP services provider and builds on the number of IP services providers that are making their home in Equinix’s Sydney hub.”

Equinix is a major neutral co-location player in Sydney with more than 100 customers operating within the Sydney IBX centre.
