NSC Engineering Students Apprenticeship Success

Shropshire, United Kingdom, June 19, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Two Engineering students from North Shropshire College’s (NSC) Aspire Centre have landed themselves apprenticeships, with the Worcester based company, Yamazaki Mazak UK Ltd. Billy Hall and Luke Francis, who are both from Ludlow, have been studying Engineering at the Aspire Centre, Burford, for the last year, after finishing secondary school.

Mazak UK is a global company that produces high performance machine tools and have been manufacturing in the UK since 1987. Billy and Luke will be joining experienced members of staff who are willing to pass on their knowledge to the next generation, whilst getting a college education and hands on experience at the same time.

Billy and Luke are amongst a handful of students that have been successful so early on in the application stage; usually applicants would have to complete practical assessments before being accepted. This is because of the strength of their engineering work at the Aspire Centre and the references that accompanied their applications. Simon Thomas, Engineering Lecturer, commented “The work that Luke and Billy have put in the last year with NSC has truly shone, they have been excellent students and truly deserve the success they have had gaining an apprenticeship, with such an esteemed company. I wish them every success for the future.”

There is still time to apply to Engineering courses at NSC, you can apply via our website www.nsc.ac.uk or call our Admissions Team on 01691 688080.
