)-- MIA Shoes is debuting MIA Sport, the latest addition to their existing line of trending footwear. Forty years in the industry, MIA Shoes has kept their brand relevant by continuously exploring and featuring fashion forward footwear. CEO and founder, Richard Strauss, keeps his finger on the pulse of fashion by always exploring new concepts and customer behavior patterns. The sport line was conceived as a result of this focus on customer preferences and needs.
Of the company’s new sneaker debut, MIA Shoes Creative Director Maria Strauss says, “There’s a convergence of different styles and trends, and that is translating into something wearable, comfortable and acceptable.” The athleisure movement has been referred to as casual fashion designed to be worn by the active enthusiast to the gym, to the office, and everywhere in between. “The need for simplifying daily routines has resulted in creatively incorporating active footwear into our everyday wardrobe.”
Over the years, with new fashion-forward styles and classic favorites, MIA Shoes has grown into a footwear powerhouse appealing to women of all ages. With playful sandals, modern heels and classic boots that are comfortable and on-trend, MIA Shoes continues to be a pioneer in footwear fashion. Trending back to the Swedish clogs of its early years with the reintroduction of MIA Clogs, MIA now joins the athleisure movement with MIA Sport.
History: Originally known as MIA Clogs, the brand was founded in 1976 at the height of the 70’s fashion revolution. Redesigning traditional Swedish styles and uppers, MIA sold more than 20,000 clogs per week well into the early 1980s. MIA became a pioneer in the footwear industry and the top-seller of Swedish clogs in the United States.
