)-- Shoeboxed, the leading online service for organizing receipts, launched the full service version of its Receipt Mail-In program this week, after two trial rounds.
Receipt Mail-In allows people to mail all the receipts they would like to have organized to Shoeboxed’s offices in North Carolina. Shoeboxed’s expert organizational staff will then scan and upload the receipts into users’ accounts. With this groundbreaking program, the hassle of scanning in receipts is finally a thing of the past. This program is perfect for anyone that spends time organizing receipts already, or wants to track their spending more closely than they do now. Business travelers, accountants, and homemakers have been particularly interested in the program.
“Receipt Mail-In is unlike any other product out there for getting organized,” Shoeboxed CEO Taylor Mingos said. “You have basically no work required of you, and you get all your personal expenses organized. The huge number of sign-ups we’ve had so far just shows how many people really need Shoeboxed.”
Shoeboxed offered a free trial of this program to its users and offered a discount for the trial to readers of Mashable.com, one of the most popular blogs in the world. The response to these offers was extremely positive, eventually causing Shoeboxed to cap the number of trial participants. “We were overwhelmed by the number of people calling and e-mailing us about how we were going to change their lives with Shoeboxed Mail-In,” said Mingos. “It’s all very exciting, and we are proud to be offering a service that so many people need.”
Mail-In subscribers receive an envelope each month from Shoeboxed with a separate prepaid envelope to return. They then fill the prepaid envelope with as many receipts as they can and mail it back. Team members scan in all the receipts and upload all relevant information into the user’s account. All of the original receipts are then sent back to the subscriber along with another prepaid envelope for the next month’s receipts. Shoeboxed then mails all the original receipts back to the user with another prepaid envelope for the next month. The program costs about $19.95 per month.
Mingos founded Shoeboxed in January 2007 to eliminate the hassle of keeping receipts organized. The site allows users to organize e-mail receipts and to scan in their own in a secure and easy-to-use platform. It also reduces the quantity of unwanted e-mails reaching users’ personal inboxes and gives users the option to join a global community of shoppers by sharing some of the purchases they store in their accounts.
