Dingtone Free Text App Brings Walkie Talkie on Android 2.7
For the first time, Android users for Dingtone free text app can use the Walkie-Talkie function. Other features in this Android 2.7 update include optimized conference call, number port out and brand new "connect" screen.

In the latest Android 2.7 update for Dingtone's free text app, Dingtone brings new features such as Walkie Talkie, Number Port Out and New Connect Screen, so users can have a better and happier experience with Dingtone.
Walkie-Talkie Function
For the first time, Android users for Dingtone free text app can use the Walkie-Talkie function. Users can press a button to record a voice message and it will be instantly sent to their recipient. Within seconds, the recipient will send back their reply. Sending voice messages is quicker and easier than texting and users can hear all the emotions and nuances in each others voice for an improved communication experience.
Number Port Out
Dingtone phone numbers can now be ported out to mobile phone operators such as AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-mobile. Users just need to enter the required information for number port out from within Dingtone's free text app and then go to a mobile phone operator to submit the number port out request. Dingtone and the mobile service provider will work together to have the Dingtone number transferred into the user’s SIM card.
Other new functions in this release include:
- Use Dingtone Number for log-in: Users that have a private Dingtone number can use that as their login ID instead of their mobile phone number.
- Conference Call optimization: After conference members have opened and read the conference call invitation, the creator of the conference call will receive a confirmation. Knowing that your conference call participants have received and read the conference invitation ensures higher participation in the call.
- Account balance expiration warning: To avoid the occurrence of an account running out of money and discontinuation of service, Dingtone will send users a warning message when their account balance is nearing expiration.
