Alabama has always had a deep and rich musical heritage that has given the world impeccable vocalists, instrumentalists, and composers whom are influential in the music industry such as: Blues legends Dinah Washington and W.C. Handy. Country Music Pioneer Hank Williams Sr. Legendary Motown artist The Temptation Members Eddie Kendricks and Melvin Franklin. American Idol Winners Rueben Studdard, Taylor Hicks and Bo Bice, and father of “Rock and Roll’’ himself Sam Phillips. This is why in 2012 Zeus (creator of the AMA’s) saw the need and founded the Alabama Music Awards Organization.
