Honoring the Animals Invites Pet Owners to Submit Their Pet's Name

Honoring the Animals will be held on National Pet Memorial Day and pet owners are being asked to submit their pet's name to The HTA Memorial Program Book.

Louisville, KY, July 28, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Chance's Spot, Pet Loss and Support Resources, will be presenting its 8th Annual Honoring the Animals, Candlelight Vigil and Animal Blessing in observance of National Pet Memorial Day.

In honor of our K-9 military dogs and their handlers, this year's special guest is Mr. Lance M. Bacon. Mr. Bacon is a Marine Corps veteran with eight years of honorable service and the author of the book, "Hero Dogs. Secret Missions and Selfless Service."

This indoor event is free and those in attendance will be able to have their pet's name read out loud during the vigil. There will be light hors d'oeuvres, musical selections and local pet vendors, as well as a moment of silence as candles are lit in memory of our beloved animal friends. There will also be a blessing of the animals for those who bring their leashed pets.

All pet owners and friends of animals who wish to participate may do so regardless of location or ability to attend by submitting their pet's name to the HTA 2016 Memorial Program book. Copies of the program are mailed world-wide and require a small donation to process. Submission forms and additional information regarding the event can be found at http://www.honoringtheanimals.org/add-pet.html.

Honoring the Animals is held on National Pet Memorial Day and is presented by Chance's Spot, Pet Loss and Grief Support, a nonprofit organization that helps pet parents and professionals understand and cope with the pain of pet loss and grief. HTA is just one of the many ways Chance's Spot supports those who have lost a pet.
