Houston Healthcare Designer Lance Winn of FKP Earns EDAC Certification

Healthcare architect Lance Winn of FKP earned the internationally-recognized Evidence-based Design Accreditation.

Houston, TX, July 30, 2016 --(PR.com)-- FKP is pleased to announce that Lance Winn, Senior Vice President, has received the internationally recognized Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC). This achievement complements Winn’s 30 years of experience as a healthcare, science, and academic planner, designer and project manager.

Winn has applied his extensive background in planning and design to healthcare projects across the U.S. and throughout the world, working with clients to transform operational vision into supportive, efficient, and inspiring environments. The EDAC recognizes Winn’s commitment to employing and advancing evidence-based research principles, guidelines, and design tools to create measurably advanced environments for the delivery of healthcare.

“With more than 80 projects to his credit, Lance has a vast portfolio of work to support his EDAC,” said Holly Ragan, Managing Principal of FKP’s Dallas office. “This certification verifies his talent for successfully applying evidence-based design principles to healthcare, science, and education settings – a process shown to directly benefit patients and users. With this expertise, Lance will help FKP further our commitment to empathic design and process innovation.”

Founded in 2009 by The Center for Health Design, the EDAC recognizes design professionals experienced in evidence-based design and focused on the research process: identifying, hypothesizing, implementing, gathering and reporting data associated with a healthcare project. Benefits of this accreditation include providing members of a healthcare project’s design team an overview of the evidence-based design process, which creates a solid foundation for designers, researchers, healthcare administrators and practitioners to speak the same language.
