FreightCenter Joins U.S. EPA SmartWay Transport Partnership Program

FreightCenter's partnership with SmartWay demonstrates the 3PL's mission to deliver innovation that drives success for all – including the planet.

Palm Harbor, FL, August 10, 2016 --(PR.com)-- FreightCenter, Inc. (www.freightcenter.com) today announced that it has joined the SmartWay® Transport Partnership, an innovative collaboration between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the transportation industry to greatly reduce greenhouse gases and air pollution.

As a SmartWay logistics partner, FreightCenter will contribute to the Partnership's goal to lessen the nation’s dependency on fossil fuels, as well as decrease carbon dioxide and nitrogen emissions. Since 2004, SmartWay partners have saved over 7  billion gallons of fuel and reduced carbon emissions by 72.8 million metric tons.

The company's SmartWay involvement covers 65% of all freight transportation brokered by the third-party logistics provider. When customers use FreightCenter to book with one of its 42 SmartWay-certified carriers, they also contribute to improving the air quality in their local area.
