iPAD Rwanda Assists Kigali Government and National Utility REG to "Develop Sector Efficiently and Effectively"

Kigali, Rwanda, September 17, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The third edition of the iPAD Rwanda Energy Infrastructure Forum returns to Kigali in November with the continued strong, official support of the state power utility REG, the Rwandan Ministry of Infrastructure as well as the Rwandan Development Board.

The Rwandan Minister of Infrastructure, the Honourable Mr James Musoni, will once again deliver the welcome address during the opening session of iPAD Rwanda on 1 November.

Continued confidence to endorse forum
“The continuing success of the event has provided in the national utility group and the Government of Rwanda the continued confidence to endorse the upcoming edition,” says Mr Jean Bosco Mugiraneza, the CEO of the Rwanda Energy Group (REG).

He adds: “The 2-day forum provides market entry for international as well as local investors, financiers, project developers, advisors, technology and solution providers to join together in dynamic interactive discussions to develop the sector efficiently and effectively, setting clear strategies and public private partnerships for success.”

According to Mr Mugiraneza “ “the networking opportunities provided for international and local solution providers to engage in credible business consortiums designed to deliver a viable investment and delivery plan to progress Rwanda’s energy mandate and assorted infrastructure projects avails our continuing support.”

Last year, the second edition of iPAD Rwanda drew almost 400 attendees from 30 countries, which was an increase of 60%.

Supported by case studies, best practice, macro scene-setting and focused table sessions, iPAD Rwanda will showcase the progress made and the work still to be undertaken to deliver on Rwanda’s development agenda of Vision 2020, which is to achieve 70% electrification connectivity by 2018 and 563MW generation capacity. High-level government officials will also be on hand to explain the incentives that are in place for developers.

Industry support
Apart from the crucial government endorsement, the event also enjoys widespread support from the industry. STEG International Services are returning as platinum sponsors. A leading international engineering, construction and technical services provider for public and private sector companies, STEG-IS has been active in Rwanda for some time. Spedag Interfreight have joined as gold sponsors again.
