Jimi Hendrix’s Personal Photographer, Ron Raffaelli, to Appear at Big Sandy Music Hall for Hendrix Meets Clapton Tribute Concert October 1, 2016

Big Sandy, TX, September 29, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Jimi Hendrix’s Personal Photographer, Ron Raffaelli, will give his personal account of his interaction with both Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton and how they felt about each other. Raffaelli will also showcase his iconic rock photography at an anniversary concert of an event that helped shape music history: when Jimi Hendrix met Eric Clapton 50 years ago to the date on October 1, 2016. The tribute concert will feature performances by local artists Rafael Espinoza and Travis Maxey at 7:30pm at the Big Sandy Music Hall located at 100 S. Tyler St. in Big Sandy, Texas.

On October 1st, 1966, Guitar Giant Eric Clapton & his band "Cream" performed at London England's Royal Polytechnic. An unknown artist named James Hendrix showed up to the gig and asked to sit in. No one had ever asked Cream if they could sit in because they had already achieved legendary status. With a lot of hesitation, Clapton finally agreed to let this guy on the stage. Hendrix ripped through a romp stompin' blues number and completely blew away Clapton and Cream. They had never seen a force of nature like this. James would later be known as Jimi Hendrix and he and Eric would become great musical admirers of each other and become the top 2 greatest guitar icons of the 20th century! The rest as they say is history.

Rock photographer, Ron Rafaelli, was hand-selected by Jimi Hendrix to personally document his first and only US tour with The Experience. Raffaelli went on to photograph many of Rock Music’s iconic artists including Blind Faith, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Grace Slick, The Family Stone and many more. Raffaelli shot and produced nearly 100 iconic posters and album covers and toured with the elite performers of the classic rock era.

Please join them at The Big Sandy Music Hall, 50 years later to the day on Saturday October 1st, 2016 at 7:30pm as Travis Maxey & Rafael Espinoza honor this historic night and pay homage to their guitar heroes. Ron Rafaelli will open the show with his personal account of working with these two guitar legends: Jimi Hendirx and Eric Clapton.
