Milton Keynes, United Kingdom, October 01, 2016 --(PR.com)-- TEAM customer Tarmac is fast becoming one of the greenest companies in the construction sector as it strives to reduce its impact on the environment.
In its 2015 Sustainability Report released last week the construction firm states that it is making “good progress” towards its 2020 target of a 37% reduction in carbon emissions from a 1990 baseline, after reaching a 27% fall by the end of 2015.
The report also highlights an attainment of the ISO 50001 Energy Management Standard, which will help measure, monitor and improve efficiencies across the business.
"Sustainability remains a cornerstone of managing the long-term future of our business, and plays a fundamental role in shaping our growth strategy," writes Tarmac's senior vice presidents Martin Riley and Oliver Mahon in the report.
"It also underpins our Group vision of being the world’s leading building materials company, through a sustainability framework that creates value for all stakeholders in a consistent, sustainable and responsible way," they added.
