Transactor Data Migration Perfected

Winchester, United Kingdom, October 04, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Over the past few years insurance software provider Transactor Global Solutions Limited (TGSL) has perfected a range of comprehensive data migrations from most industry platforms including Electra (SSP), Pure (SSP), and CDL (Classic).

“Our data migrations are full on, and include everything you need to run your business without interruption or re-keying,” explains Ian Blakesley, Chief Information Officer, TGSL. “This includes full client and policy details, accounts, claims, documents, seamless EDI, MID, events, diary and notes. We offer either a big-bang, phased or on-renewal approach to suit the client.”

Danny Keating, IT Manager, Acorn Insurance said, “A successful data migration was a critical element in the process of moving from SSP Pure to Transactor. Acorn are a demanding and fast growing operation, so business disruption was not an option. I am delighted with the outcome. Our office closed as usual on the Saturday afternoon after a final day of running on the old system, and by the time our staff started work the following Monday we had all our data on Transactor. We didn’t lose a day of productivity, our EDI and MID submissions were uninterrupted, and there was nothing for our staff to re-key.”

Rob Applin, Operations Director, The Bollington Group added, “We have a broad range of business classes, with a diverse product mix and differing data captures. Given this complexity we could not contemplate a system change without an effective data migration. We are very happy with the approach and outcome. We are kept engaged and involved in the process, it works well for us.”

“These are just two examples, but we are more than ready to provide relevant user references and case studies from a number of other platforms that will help future clients to understand just how do-able data migrations are,” confirms Ray Vincent, TGSL’s Chief Executive Officer.

“Data migration is viewed as one of the core obstacles to insurance businesses considering upgrading, and for some, the task seems so daunting that it is not worth the effort. This can leave a business stranded on a software platform that is no longer system of choice, but system of habit. For obvious reasons software providers in our sector are keen to exaggerate the challenges.”

“For example, we are aware of situations where a broker has been wrongly informed that it is impossible to maintain continuity of EDI activity following a data migration. For others, they will have to ‘rekey’ their client and policy histories. This is nonsense. We have carried out migration exercises cleanly and professionally time and time again, to the point where it has become a ‘drill’ for TGSL and its trading partners. So much so, that we now offer data migrations from most mainstream providers at a fixed cost, which makes it affordable for any size of business, not just the big players.”

Transactor has over 13 years’ experience migrating data from a range of software platforms, from bespoke and custom builds to legacy and off the shelf systems, and the results have always been positive.

“There is one final point to make, which is there is an upside to a data migration that people often overlook,” continues Blakesley. “We find broking businesses that have traded on a system for a number of years have accumulated quite a lot of clutter. Data migration can offer businesses the chance to have a monumental tidy up, and re-validate their entire book. This produces benefits across the board, especially in policy administration, accounts, and data interchange. From a business efficiency perspective, a decent data migration should be a positive experience, and certainly not something to be feared.”
