)-- The United States Power Squadrons (USPS) announces the debut of its streaming media video focused on life jackets in its Digital Media Library (DML) online at www.uspsdml.org and as a free mobile app.
The new “Life Jackets” video (https://youtu.be/0HIZ2QMq0SI) shows viewers how to choose the most appropriate life jacket for their boat and activity, how to ensure that it's serviceable and fits properly, and how to put it on and wear it.
Viewers will also learn their responsibilities as boat operators to ensure that their passengers and crew – with special attention to children – have chosen and correctly put on the appropriate life jackets for the given situation.
Also featured are special tips about life jackets, such as ensuring that any unused extra life jackets carried on board are removed from their packaging and properly stowed for easy access.
Along with the new video, the USPS DML is adding a related boater education slideshow on Basic Weather and Forecasting (https://uspowersquadrons.sharefile.com/d-s3f46e762f014a97a) as well as several new safe boating images.
The USPS DML is also distributing its “Life Jackets” video through popular social media including Facebook (www.facebook.com/USPSDML/) and YouTube (www.youtube.com/channel/UC1c_rFyt1fGqvdiSauAijAg). All digital media in the library is offered at no charge.
The USPS Digital Media Library is produced under a grant from the Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund administered by the US Coast Guard.
The United States Power Squadrons is the premier boating organization dedicated to “Safe Boating through Education” since 1914.
