The City of Sierra Madre, CA Creates Water-Efficient Landscape Using Rain Bird Irrigation System

Azusa, CA, October 07, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The City of Sierra Madre sets an example for its citizens by replacing City Hall’s irrigation system with a water-efficient drip irrigation Rain Bird system that uses weather-based irrigation control and drought tolerant plants. To accentuate the overall design, the project also included pathways, a picnic area with artistic rock work, and a dry creek bed.

Chris Cimino, Sierra Madre City Landscape Maintenance Director stated, “The City is very pleased with the new irrigation system, as “installation was fast and easy using the QF Dripline Header, as well as beautiful since we installed the XFS Subsurface Dripline so there are few visible irrigation lines.” To help maintain an optimal watering schedule the ESP-LXME Series Controller was installed with IQ Global Weather service to monitor and manage irrigation needs. Watering needs have gone from seven days per week to three days per week while still maintaining healthy plants.
