Wavebid Announces AuctionServices.com Acquisition

Minneapolis, MN, October 27, 2016 --(PR.com)-- It has been announced this week that Wavebid.com has finalized the acquisition of AuctionServices.com. Negotiations had been ongoing since the announcement of their strategic partnership late in 2014. The acquisition is an effort by both companies to expand their service capabilities in the software and website sphere for the auction industry.

Wavebid, a Minnesota-based tech firm, is currently a leading force in the auction software industry, servicing auctioneers globally. Founded in 2011 as a software-as-a-service company, Wavebid.com fosters its goal of continued innovation and development of technology that streamlines the auction management process. “There are so many different steps, different vendors, and different hoops for the auctioneer. Wavebid’s tools make the it all simpler, easier, and faster,” said Russ Hilk, CEO and co-founder of Wavebid.com.

AuctionServices.com, based in West Virginia and founded in 1994, is one of the nation’s leading providers of marketing and web solutions for auctioneers, and has a monolithic presence in the industry. “Auction Services has been continuously evolving in the 22 years we’ve been around,” said Nancy Romanus, co-founder of Auction Services. “Technology is changing at an accelerated pace and we recognized in Wavebid a likeness in business philosophy. This merger creates a better landscape for all auctioneers looking to improve their digital footprint. I am excited to see what the future brings.”

“There are huge opportunities here. Existing Wavebid technologies are perfectly suited to merge with Auction services web tools, streamlining the process,” said Hilk. “There’s this great synergy between Auction Services and Wavebid. We do different things, but both can be done together. We’re excited about this big step, and we’re excited to bring our combined forces to bear,” said Hilk.

Hilk stressed the continued independence of the two companies: “Wavebid will continue doing what it does, and Auction Services will do what they do. That’s not going to change -- We’re excited about the overlap, the areas where we can do new things in combination with one another.”

The two companies, while continuing to operate independently, will focus on creating innovative solutions for auctioneers worldwide. “Saving time, saving resources, getting the product to market faster -- that’s our goal,” said Hilk.
