Getzner Introducing Material That Quiets & Protects Fitness Machines

Absorbs Impact Better Than Rubber & Other Common Gym Materials

Charlotte, NC, October 28, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Getzner, the leader in vibration mitigation materials, will be exhibiting at The Athletic Business Show Nov. 17-19 in Orlando, Fla., to launch its Sylodamp® elastic material for high damping. Sylodamp® reduces the sound and damaging impact of outside forces making it suitable for a range of fitness machines and athletic equipment from treadmills and gymnasium floors to shoe insoles and helmets.

When impacts with high force peaks (e.g., the movement from a person or weighted element) are exerted on machines, loads occur that can cause unwanted noise. Getzner’s polyurethane material, Sylodamp®, has been specially developed to effectively reduce these types of impact loads. Unique damping characteristics minimize the shock pulse preventing the transfer of undesired noise from a machine such as a treadmill to other parts of a fitness center, apartment complex, office building, etc. Its exceptional material properties allow it to absorb impact better than rubber or other common materials used in mats and floor protection.

Moreover, Sylodamp® prevents increased wear on mechanical components (e.g., weight machine, elliptical) where there are continuous impact loads. People also benefit from the damping attributes of Sylodamp when it’s incorporated in helmets or pads for sport play, as it protects the musculoskeletal system from impact.

In addition to being highly effective, Sylodamp® is also extremely durable. As it is free from softeners, the material will remain effective over time. Sylodamp® is UV and ozone resistant as well, and is produced without using any greenhouse gases.

The Sylodamp® range is available in six graded levels of stiffness to cover a wide variety of load ranges.
