Singer-Songwriter Releases Album Discussing Mental Illness

Singer-songwriter Emily Brown has just released a new album, “Emily Frown,” about confronting and conversing with mental illness.

San Jose, CA, November 03, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Singer-songwriter Emily Brown released her first album in four years on October 25th. Cheekily titled “Emily Frown,” the album is about conversing and confronting mental illness-- in particular, Brown’s personal experiences with anxiety and depression.

A short, 20-minute EP, “Emily Frown” is minimally produced, using only piano and vocals, but employing experimental mixing techniques and dreamlike layered tracks. The EP discusses subjects like failed romantic relationships, family interactions, and the cyclical nature of mental illness, among others. Jacob Singer of Convozine called it “salon music for the soul.”

“Emily Frown” has been featured in The Line of Best Fit, a UK-based music blog, and The Daily Herald of Provo, UT. Prospective listeners can find it on iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp, and wherever music is sold. Brown is currently booking tour dates on the west coast, and she will perform at San Jose’s Crema Coffee on Saturday, November 12th, at 8pm.
