New York, NY, November 29, 2016 --(PR.com
)-- “Artist Talk” on “Mythic/Poetic" by the Artist Ricardo Osmondo Francis in collaboration with Leonidesarts Gallery New York, East End Studio Houston, Texas and Derek Jackson with Zero Station Portland, Maine present this closing event on 12/16/2016. “Artist” is a conversation with the artist and public regarding his journey creating the paintings and drawings for this exhibition. The exhibition is of mixed media paintings and drawings that are best described as “lush” surrealistic narratives that often depict the social constructs of moral/racial identities with the complexities of human existence, economics and life through the lens of a 21st Century urban contemporary artist’s vision of an urban pastoral realism as seen through multi media, still life, and abstract compositions. Ideas inspired by classical art, various multi-ethnic contemporary visions, antiquity, modernity, and present day advertisement imagery that the current paintings and drawings present in a torrent of color and imagery culled from every possible corner of our visual culture. Thick with an air of political and spiritual symbolism, Mr. Francis’ works project a variegated questioning aura of ambiguity, social, sexual, and social identity in compositions saturated with allegory. “Artist Talk” is Mr. Francis’ conversation regarding his journey in its creation.
