SLCN.TV to Broadcast TIM Cup Soccer Finals in Second Life for 1 Million Dollar Purse

Melbourne, Australia, February 02, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The first TIM Cup virtual soccer tournament finals will be broadcast on SLCN.TV, beginning February 10, 2008, and continuing through the final match on February 22, 2008.

The TIM Cup tournament started with preliminary matches in early January 2008, as teams from all over the globe have been battling it out on the field in their quest for the championship at the finals in February. Teams have progressed through the group phase and are gearing up for the knockout stages in the quarter finals, semifinals, and the naming of this years champions at the final match.

The competition, organized by ISN Virtual Worlds, will take place in the TIM Stadium, a faithful reproduction of Milan's San Siro Stadium, on the Second Life island of Telecom Italia 2. TIM Stadium is the largest stadium in Second Life and encompasses four sims to maximize performance. Each team is represented by a team president and a myriad of coaching staff, scouts, players, each team sporting their own logos and colors.

A considerable prize stake is looming on the horizon for some teams with per match amounts being touted at 8000L for a win, 6000L for a draw, and 4000L for a defeat. The TIM Cup Tournament Champions will not only earn their bragging rights for 2008, but will be awarded the grand prize of 1 million Linden Dollars.

All matches will be broadcast on SLCN.TV, the Second Life Cable Network, with full schedule of events for upcoming matches available on their website calendar at www.slcn.tv.
