Austin, TX, February 15, 2017 --(PR.com
)-- Neofauve Studio & Gallery is pleased to present the group exhibition The Female Form on the evening of Saturday, March 11th.
The show features five Austin-based artists exploring the feminine figure in painting and drawing while delving into subjects including psychology, expectations of women, and socioeconomic status. “I believe art can be used as a tool to increase levels of sensitivity to contemporary issues, and women’s empowerment is a central focus of my work,” says artist Jessey Jansen, who will exhibit pieces from her MyPop series at the event.
“Given today’s social undercurrents, it felt like the perfect time to have a show highlighting female subjects as portrayed by women artists,” explained Neofauve founder Katerina Tsasis. “We’re thrilled to share this thought-provoking collection of work with our community.”
Artwork will be available for purchase and donations will be collected for Posada Esparanza / Casa Marianella, a volunteer-driven emergency homeless shelter in east Austin.
