Stardust Shines Brighter with Prestigious Parenting Award

Lullaby collection earns esteemed 2008 Best Product iParenting Media Award

Omaha, NE, February 03, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Stardust, a 2-disc lullaby CD created by award winning singer/songwriter siblings, Cher & Gene Klosner, was awarded the prestigious iParenting Media Award on January 28, 2008.

Being honored with an award from iParenting Media is considered the gold standard in achievement for a product geared to children and parents. "It is just so great to get validation from such a reputable company as iParenting Media Awards. We feel very honored and so very grateful!" Cher stated. “We are very proud of Stardust, and of all the talented musicians that performed on the CD,” Gene added. “The iParenting Media Awards lets parents know they are getting a quality product for their family."

Stardust was among thousands of entries vying for a spot on the iParenting Media 2008 Best Products list, which takes entrants through an internationally certified product evaluation process which includes independent reviews by child experts, parents and final approval from the iParenting Media Awards Executive Committee. As award winners, the Klosners can use iParenting Media’s seal of approval on their product packaging to showcase the CD’s status as an elite product for children.

“We really put a lot of care and thought into the making of the CD and iParenting Media is recognizing those efforts,” Gene stated. “Once people listen to the music, I think they'll find that Stardust came from our hearts.” Cher added. The duo created Stardust from their desire to offer a more natural sounding lullaby collection, versus one that is heavily synthesized, which Cher states is, “prevalent on many children’s musical recordings.”

The Klosners, whose music has been performed by the Omaha and Indianapolis Symphonies, Cincinnati Pops and others, wished to offer listeners a lullaby collection composed with authentic instrumentation that could also serve as a medium in which parents and children could enjoy lullabies together.

“After my son was born, singing and playing lullaby music became part of our ‘night-night’ routine,” stated Cher. “But, I became frustrated by the prevalence of synthesized instrumentation that, unfortunately, lacks the human touch, feel and emotion that comes from a real instrument and a live player.“ Rather than use synthesized “instrument sound-alikes,” Stardust was composed with as many real instruments as possible, like oboe, flute, violin, grand piano, acoustic guitar, cello, and more. Cher explained that when mixed with a combination of rich, lilting vocals, the resulting collection is a CD filled with soothing, relaxing, harmonious songs for children and adults of all ages to enjoy. “We’re finding that the adults like Stardust as much as the kids do.”

In addition to the iParenting Media Award, Stardust has recently appeared on CNBC’s “American Dream Team” segment of “The Big Idea,” with Donny Deutsch, and in Omaha Family Magazine, with several media features in the works. Cher stated, "It feels so good to be acknowledged for the hard work that went in to the CD!”
