Outsourced Pharma Announces Boston Forum Agenda

Boston, MA, March 01, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Outsourced Pharma is excited to announce the agenda for its Boston event. The Summit On Modern-Day Drug Development and Manufacturing Outsourcing is scheduled for April 26 and 27 at the Boston Park Plaza. The complete agenda and list of panelists can be found at www.outsourcedpharmaevents.com.

Outsourced Pharma Boston will bring together professionals from all sizes of pharmaceutical and biotech companies with their counterparts at contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMs/CMOs).

With this Boston event, Outsourced Pharma enters its fourth year of hosting thought-leadership conferences and exhibitions that provide discussions of best practices and practical application of outsourcing skills, with an open format for panel and audience discussion.

Louis Garguilo, Outsourced Pharma Event Chair and Chief Editor of OutsourcedPharma.com, said: “Over the past three years, we’ve continued to improve upon our model of open discussion and debate. This has become the place to uncover challenges facing – and between – drug sponsors and owners, and contract development and manufacturing organizations. We look forward to building on this platform in 2017, starting in Boston, and we invite any professionals involved with outsourcing or an external supply chain to join us.”

Featured panels include: Learning To Fly: How to support incremental innovative solutions. New drug delivery platforms and devices, digital solutions and knowledge management systems, evolving immunotherapies, changes in the design and operation of facilities, evolving and developing CMO skillsets - incremental innovations like these need to be supported throughout the supply chain. This panel discusses how to break down “innovation” into practical applications and best practices for drug developers and service providers. Panelists include: Todd Mabe, head of biologics, drug substance external quality at Roche Genentech; Piet Houwen, head of biologics, external manufacturing, Sanofi Genzyme; Evan Guggenhelm, senior manager, technical development, Biogen; and Thomas Holmes, senior director for global external manufacturing, Biogen.

A Buyer’s or Seller’s Market? The truth about capacity and your supply chain needs. Most companies seem concerned about capacity – for large and “the right kind of” small molecule. Today, these companies just can’t determine how much drug substance or product is needed, and contact a CMO. They need to understand where and how much capacity is available for their specific projects, and when to start planning to secure it. This panel will dive into best practices on forecasting and managing capacity, and strategies for working with CMOs. Panelists include: Vince Kosewski, VP, supply chain operations at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals; Bob Sheroff, SVP, technical operations, Agios Pharmaceuticals; Steve Cook, head, global biologic supply chain operations, MedImmune; and Franco Negron, president, drug product services, Patheon.
