O-Town is Back and Better Than Ever; New Single, "Empty Space" Out Now

Musical group, O-Town, released their first single, "Empty Space," off of their forthcoming EP.

Los Angeles, CA, April 26, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Sixteen years after the release of their debut album, musical group, O-Town, has released their first single, “Empty Space,” off of their forthcoming EP. This is the group’s fourth album and marks the first time they are releasing music completely independent of a record label. The single was exclusively performed on iHeartRadio’s Facebook Live during a 3-day NYC press junket. The track itself premiered on Yahoo! Music on Tuesday, April 18th, which immediately led to amazing reviews from Entertainment Weekly, AOL, Billboard and more, as well as grabbing the attention of infamous national radio personality, Elvis Duran. The group will break the album into two EP’s, with the first scheduled for release in May.

Through an overwhelmingly successful Kickstarter campaign, this album was completely funded by fans. O-Town set a goal of $47,500, which they reached in just 7 hours and in the end, nearly doubled that goal, proving that their loyal fan base will continue to support the group as they embark on new musical endeavors.

“The response from the fans was pretty overwhelming! In my wildest dreams, I never expected that we would fully fund our campaign within the first 7 hours,” says Dan. Jacob continued, “I had high hopes, but nearly zero foresight when it came to how the Kickstarter would go. Reaching the goal in only 7 hours was absolutely unexpected and enormously encouraging. It told me one thing. That we have fans out there that want us to continue to make music as O-Town, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do. Our fans truly bless us.”

O-Town was brought together through the ABC/MTV hit TV show, "Making The Band," the first of its kind. Spearheaded by Lou Pearlman, creator of both the Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC, the creation and development of O-Town was chronicled throughout three seasons of the series. Despite major differences and ethics issues that were publicly known, Lou had a major influence on the group prior to their parting ways, and since the death of their former mentor in 2016, they have come together to write a song about Lou for the upcoming EP.

Reunited in 2014 as a four-piece following the departure of member, Ashley Parker Angel, band members Jacob Underwood, Trevor Penick, Dan Miller and Erik-Michael Estrada, released their third studio album, “Lines & Circles,” and set out on a national tour for the first time in 10 years in support of the album. They spent the summer of 2016 on the MY2K Tour, with artists 98 Degrees, Ryan Cabrera, and Dream. They also performed alongside the likes of New Kids on The Block, Boyz ll Men and Paula Abdul for the 5th Mixtape Festival, held in July 2016 in Hershey, PA. The group made their acting debut in 2016, starring in Backstreet Boy Nick Carter’s cult film, “Dead 7,” amongst members of all of the generation’s biggest boy bands.

O-Town has had overwhelming success over the years, including fan favorite #1 singles, “Liquid Dreams” and “All or Nothing” in the US, as well as the UK, and over 3 million albums sold. They’ll be on tour this July with Ryan Cabrera and joining dates on the massive I Love The 90’s Tour.
