Eric Heiden announces the establishment of the Heiden Institute of Sports Science and Human Performance in Park City, Utah. The Heiden Institute provides world-class cycling camps (road and mountain) offering pro-level medical and fitness testing and fully-supported daily rides throughout Park City.

Park City, UT, April 29, 2017 --(PR.com)-- After years of envisioning a comprehensive performance program encompassing fitness, sports medicine, nutrition, and sports psychology as a team approach, Eric Heiden proudly announces the establishment of the Heiden Institute of Sports Science and Human Performance (Heiden Institute) located in Park City, UT.

Heiden, a U.S. 5-time Gold Medal Olympian, BMC Racing Team physician, USA Road Race Champion, Tour de France cyclist-turned-orthopedic-surgeon has gathered a unique team of experts with 65+ years’ combined experience working with professional and elite amateur athletes. “The idea of the Heiden Institute is something that I've thought of for years. I am an orthopedic surgeon, I take care of athletes, and have been an athlete myself. I've understood that the components for a successful athletic career are quite diverse and have always dreamed about bringing those components together, under one roof, in a comprehensive way,” adds Heiden.

The Heiden Institute will begin their first year offering cycling camps (road and mountain) with Gold, Silver, and Bronze Performance Package options. Gold performance package clients receive world-class fitness, nutritional, sports psychology and sports medical assessments usually reserved for pro-level athletes… while Silver level clients focus on performance assessments only. Bronze level clients are there to ride-only, participating in the supported rides, massage, accommodations, meals and educational components of each camp.

All client levels will enjoy daily high-altitude, challenging routes in and around Park City with multiple ride leaders (accommodating all riding/fitness levels), full ride support, and post-ride recovery massages. Evenings include industry expert-led discussions with guest speakers on a variety of performance-related subjects which can include: sports medicine, nutrition, sports psychology, cardiovascular health, program design and more. The camps typically run five days, and include modern accommodations, all meals, transportation, bike maintenance/care.

Upon completion of camp, Gold and Silver Performance Package clients receive their confidential dossier containing all test results and customized fitness, nutritional, medical and mental fit training programs. Heiden and his team of experts will help integrate these plans with clients’ personal physicians and coaches to ensure long-term success.

The Heiden Institute offers camps for individuals, as well as private camps for teams and clubs. With a focus on health and wellness, the Heiden Institute will also expand their programs and services to executives, offering a gold standard package and customized activities and accommodations per client interest.

The Heiden Institute’s inaugural camp debuts June 18-23, 2017 with guest speaker/rider, Phil Gaimon, experienced World Tour Rider and author. Other camps include The Ultimate Challenge (Stage 6, Tour of Utah), a women’s only camp, and fall mountain bike camp.
