Fort Myers, FL, May 26, 2017 --(PR.com
)-- Jennifer’s women’s boutique is collecting canned goods for Community Cooperative’s “Summer Drive for Hunger” throughout the month of June. Shoppers who donate a minimum of 10 items will receive 20% off their entire purchase and a certificate for $25 off a future purchase.
"The summer months can be difficult for families who can't rely on the schools to feed their hungry children,” said Jennifer Williams, owner of Jennifer’s. More than 70 percent of Lee County students qualify for free/reduced breakfast and lunch during the school year. Community Cooperative ensures that these children don’t go hungry during the summer.”
Suggested donation items include jam and jelly, canned tuna, chicken, ham and beef, beans (all varieties), whole wheat pasta and pasta sauce, brown rice (family size bags), healthy cereals and granola, hamburger, tuna and chicken helper, canned fruit and vegetable varieties, shelf stable milk and healthy canned soup.
Last June Jennifer’s collected nearly 600 pounds of food for Community Cooperative.
