Monroe County Grants DeLucca Events Funding for Key West to Cuba Festival, Presented by Havana Air

Begin with an Art, Wine & Dine Experience in Key West September 7-10, then be transported back in time to Cuba for the trip of a lifetime September 10-13. 

Key West, FL, June 13, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Creativity, Innovation and Movement were the elements that drove the visionary leadership of a few and the voices of many to inaugurate the 2017 Key West to Cuba Festival, LGBT art & culture revolution. Co-funded by Monroe County Tourist Development Council. Event partners and committee members include Gay Key West, Matt Don, Key West Food and Wine Festival, Mark Certonio, DMC of Miami, Mercedes Costa, OutClique Magazine, Steven Evans, & ADEPT Strategy & PR, Dana Politt.

September 7-13, travelers from around the world will enjoy an art festival in the Key West Historic Seaport District, showcasing local LGBT and Cuban artists, a Papa’s Pilar Rum Bar Lounge, Gallery and Museum Tours, a Rum & Cigar Lounge Party at the Marker Waterfront Resort, a drag show performed at 801 Bourbon Bar by the famous Marytrini. And will begin with VIP Reception held in the historic brick building of Papa’s Pilar Rum Distillery.

Then on September 10th travelers fly out of Key West to Havana, Cuba on a Havana Air privately chartered 737-200 plane till the 13th for an exclusive LGBT cultural tour experience. In Cuba, the group will visit artist galleries, studios and museums, historic landmarks and take in a business symposium focused on the LGBT history and doing business in Cuba. All Cuban travel requirements and logistics will be handled by event founding partner, DMC of Miami.

The ticket options allow travelers to go to Key West, Cuba or both. Prices vary and can be found on the website. The Cuba trip includes airfare on Havana Air, hotel accommodations at Meliá Cohiba, breakfast, dinner one night, English Speaking Guide and all tours. VIP options also available for those wishing to see Cuba as a smaller group. Key West ticket includes hotel accommodations at the Marker Waterfront Hotel and various options vary to include tours and parties.

World-renowned Cuban artist, Michel Mirabal recently signed as the premier artist and is creating an original piece of art which will be auctioned off and proceeds donated to the event’s non-profit partner Our Fund. This work of art will be then created into the 2017 commemorative poster. Born in the “barrio” of Havana, Cuba, Michel Mirabal has established himself an iconic -sought after international artist. Pieces from his successful series on Cuban flags can be found touring The Vatican, Art Basel, various international galleries and in the private collections of Usher, Marc Anthony, Carlos Santana, Gabriel García Márquez, Quincy Jones, and Muhammad Ali, just to name a few.

With the growth happening in Cuba along with the growing power of the LGBTQ community it was clear to the DeLucca Events team that it was the perfect time to bring together all the key players in each genre to create an exceptional and distinctive event. A Broward County launch party is taking place at Bona Restaurant in Wilton Manors June 29th from 5:30pm-7:00pm to kick-off the festivities. An additional party will take place in Miami in July.
