CyberSoup's The Wild West.org Worked to Educate California Voters on Propositions Related to Indian Casinos

TheWildWest.org served as yet another valuable resource on the Internet when it went from looking at the past to looking at the present in relation to Indian Casinos as a source of funding for California's budget.

Los Angeles, CA, February 14, 2008 --(PR.com)-- CyberSoup's TheWild West.org has been a worthy educational resource on the internet since 1999 by offering information on the history of the American West and Native American cultures. This past month, the site served up valuable information to California voters related to Props 94-97: Indian Casinos.

Under these agreements, the Agua Caliente, Morongo, Pechanga and Sycuan tribes would pay a much higher percentage of their net gaming revenues to the state. In all, these payments will provide hundreds of millions of dollars to the state each year. While important details had been conveniently left out of the marketing campaigns by the state as well as both "yes" and "no" proponents of the propositions, visitors to TheWildWest.org received the missing links in order to make an informed decision on how to vote on the propositions. TheWildWest.org also ran a poll to gauge interest and the results showed that the majority of California voters wanted more information which proved that the campaigns themselves were doing a lousy job of actually educating the voters.

People coming to TheWildWest.org are students studying American history as well as a tremendous number of people seeking to discover their Native American roots. The site offers information on American Indian society, legends and people, religion, Native American art, sacred Native places. The flip side of the coin is that the site offers extensive information on American Western culture: cowboys, legendary women of the west, outlaws and lawmen, cowboy and western facts, cowboy trail recipes, film and TV cowboys and their horses, of course, as well as cowboy songs and poetry. The content on the site is enormous and content contribution to the site is welcomed as long as it is well researched.
