Council for Adult and Experiential Learning’s Philadelphia Adult Learner Academy is in Session

Workshops will help institutions serve rapidly growing population of adult learners to improve rates of enrollment, persistence and completion.

Philadelphia, PA, June 24, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) is bringing its Adult Learner Academy workshops to Philadelphia from August 1-3 at Orleans Technical College. The Philadelphia Adult Learner Academy will be offered in partnership with The Council for Accelerated Programs (CAP), a membership organization that serves professionals who lead, teach and conduct research in accelerated programs in higher education.

Offered in regions throughout the country, CAEL’s Adult Learner Academy strengthens institutions’ efforts to attract and support the growing population of nontraditional students. The Adult Learner Academy encompasses a series of workshops, led by expert practitioners and covering a range of topics relevant to all colleges and universities, through which participants gain valuable insight and best practices for effectively serving adult learners.

“When it comes to today’s students, adult learners are the new normal,” said CAEL CEO and President Pamela Tate. “With the Adult Learner Academy, participants can help their college or university implement the policies and programs that adult students need to persist and reach completion goals.”

CAEL and CAP will host the day-long workshops, each covering subject matter of great importance for colleges and universities looking to increase their support of today’s adult learners. Topics to be covered during the workshops include advising adult learners, accelerated learning, competency-based education implementation and prior learning assessment.
