Altia Announces Code Running on New Accordo 5 Automotive System-on-Chip from STMicroelectronics

Colorado Springs, CO, June 29, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Altia announces the availability of a fully digital instrument cluster for the new Accordo 5 automotive family of processors from STMicroelectronics. With this demo, automakers considering this new chip for next generation automotive displays can experience the full range of state-of-the art features available on the Accordo 5, including impressive performance, 3D and more.

ST’s Accordo 5 family of multi-core SoCs is targeted for digital instrument cluster, display audio and navigation applications. These processors can include either a single or dual ARM® Cortex®A7 core with a speed of up to 800 MHz and an efficient 3D graphics processing unit. Automakers developing Altia HMIs for the Accordo5 can leverage its 2D and 3D graphics support for common formats like OpenGL ES 2.0. Altia’s easy-to-use software provides a WYSIWYG approach for leveraging both virtual and hardware layers for blending graphics, maximizing color depth or overlaying video.

“With the powerful and cost-efficient Accordo 5 family of dual-core infotainment processors, automakers will be able to deliver a high-end look and feel to any car – including mid and entry vehicles,” said Brian Pluckebaum, Marketing Development Principal Engineer, STMicroelectronics. “Beyond managing the screen in the dashboard instrument cluster, the Accordo 5 also offers a novel and cost-effective approach to driving analog gauges. We look forward to demonstrating the powerful features of this new processor with the cluster HMI (Human-Machine Interface) developed with Altia user-interface development software.”

Altia is perfectly suited to deliver high-performance HMIs for processors like the Accordo 5. The Altia tool chain supports the range of low-end processors to high-end systems, delivering custom graphics code optimized for each project’s target. With its integrated and easy-to-use 3D design flow, global language support and quality initiatives for ASPICE, MISRA and ISO 26262, Altia is a clear choice for developing safe and innovative displays for automotive applications.
